Busy, busy, busy....

Well things have been pretty busy around here. Mostly it's been all work and  part-time retail just sucks sometimes. I like helping customers, and I like the amount of hours I get but I hate midday and closing shifts. I feel like I can't get anything done before I have to rush off to work, and I'm to burnt out afterwards to do anything. Looks like I'll be in for another long week this week too. Hopefully things will slow down enough in the next couple of weeks for me to get other things done.
On a brighter note I was able to get some work done on my Lore archive. Nothing extreme, just a few useful links. Still it's better than nothing at all. I'm still trying to figure out just how I'm going to do my "cultural study" articles. I would like to just start at the beginning with the titans, and go from there. It's not impossible to do, but I'd have a lot of digging to do, and that isn't exactly info that I need right now. I may just have to pick a race, an aspect of their culture and go from there. Well that's enough for me for tonight, so I will leave you all with a little something I found on a friends Facebook.
TRUTHS FOR HUMANS

1. I think part of a best friend’s job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.
2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you’re wrong.
3. I totally take back all those times I didn’t want to nap when I was younger.
4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.
5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?
6. Was learning cursive really necessary?
7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I’m pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.
8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.
9. I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t at least kind of tired.
10. Bad decisions make good stories.
11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren’t going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.
12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don’t want to have to restart my collections…again.
13. I’m always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-=page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.
14. “Do not machine wash or tumble dry” means I will never wash this…ever.
15. I hate when I miss a call by the last ring and when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voice mail. What did you do after I didn’t answer? Drop the phone and run away?
16. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.
17. I keep some people’s phone numbers in my phone just so I know not answer when they call.
18. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.
19. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.
20. I wish Google Maps had an “Avoid Ghetto” routing option.
21. Sometimes I’ll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the heck was going on when I first saw it.
22. I would rather try to carry 10 over-loaded plastic bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.
23. The only time I look forward to a red light is when I’m trying to finish a text.
24. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.
25. How many times is it appropriate to say “what?” before you just nod and smile because you still didn’t hear or understand a word they said?
26. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong brothers and sisters.
27. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty and you can wear them forever.
28. Is it just me or do high school kids get dumber and dumber every year?
29. There’s no worse feeling than that millisecond you’re sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.
30. As a driver I hat pedestrians and as a pedestrian I hat drivers, but no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate bicyclists.
31. Sometimes I’ll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still now know what time it is.
32. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and pinning the tail on the donkey, but I’d bet my ass everyone can find a push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time!
I've seen it before and thought it was cute (especially that last one).

A new aproach....

Awhile back I said I was going to write some "World of Warcraft" fan fiction. Well the process has begun, but I keep smacking into metaphorical walls. A lot of the info I need, (1) I can't find, or (2) has more holes than a block of Swiss cheese. So I've decided that there is only one way to truly solve this problem, by making my own "little" archive. :) I've already started making a layout for the site, which I will start filling with info when I have it pretty well established. It might take some time before it's ready, as I work every day this week. I also just got over a bad case of either food poisoning, or a 24hr flu bug. So don't expect to see anything too soon, but I will give updates for how things are going. I will probably put profiles for my characters into my archive to use as examples. That's all that I have for now as far as updates go.

Sugared Pumpkin (Squash) Seeds

This is a recipe from "Cozy Country Kitchen 2007" magazine, and is technically a recipe for a Halloween/ Fall treat. It is so close to my method of roasting squash seeds that I decided to just post this version instead. I'd like to note that all squash seeds are edible, and can be used in place of pumpkin seeds.

Sugared Pumpkin Seeds

1 cup Pumpkin Seeds (any squash seed will work)
1 tblsp Butter, melted
1 tblsp Sugar
1/2- 1 tblsp Cinnamon
1/4 tblsp Nutmeg
1/8 tblsp Allspice

Rinse seeds and pat dry; toss with butter, sugar and spices. (If you have them, small paper bags work great for this.) Spread on a lightly greased baking sheet. (If you prefer, you can always line the baking sheet with either parchment paper or tinfoil, instead of greasing.) Bake at 300*F for 45-60 min., turning occasionally, until crunchy & golden. Makes 1 cup.

All statements in (parenthesis) are my own personal comments and were not apart of the original recipe. Also, I don't know how to put the little degree circle in, so I used the "*" symbol instead. As I stated before this is pretty much what I do when I roast squash seeds. One other thing I think I should mention is that the cooking time listed is most likely for raw seeds. I say this only because in my house we tend to bake the whole squash before cutting it up, and scooping out the seeds. For me the time it takes to roast the seeds alone is much shorter (10-15min.), and we tend to only have the oven set at 275*F. (That's not including the time or temp it takes to cook the squash too, though.)

I figured this might make an interesting holiday candy for anyone who still has squash seeds laying around. Plus I didn't have anything else that was ready to be posted. Anyways, I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday Season!!!

*Happy Holidays*

Simple update

I've been really busy with work this past week so I haven't had time to do anything for this blog. On top of that the weather has been making, even simple, chores difficult to accomplish. It's hard to get up the energy to just sweep the floor. When your body wants for you to do nothing more than curl up on the couch, and take a nap. It also doesn't help that my room is nearly torn apart yet again. Some of it is project related and some of it is supposed to be donated. The rest is either new stuff that doesn't have a home yet, or stuff that I haven't gotten around to putting away yet. I'm thinking I might have to put stuff in attic again, at least until I get my room back under control.
I've started writing down some of the "Fan-fiction" that has been running through my head. Still need to type some of it up though, and get pictures together (screen shot edits). I've been doing some experimental cooking as well, but I haven't written anything down for that. Will have to do that soon before I forget those recipes, and some of them are pretty yummy (mostly deserts an candies). Other than that there hasn't been too much activity that is "Blog worthy" (just work and sleep). I just wanted to give an update, to help me keep myself on track. Anyways, until next time.

Wow... as in World of Warcraft?

So here is a little secret of mine... I play World of Warcraft, kind of. I've been playing on and off for about five years now, and I'm still such a noob XD. Anyways you're probably wondering what that has to do with a blog that is supposed to be about cleaning, organizing, and arts-n-crafts. Don't worry I'm not going to start creating cheesy themed art-n-craft items to decorate your house with. I did however mention the major issue that I seem to be having. Which is the fact that I'm supposed to be doing something with this blog, but I'm not really doing anything. I have so many things that I want to do and share, but I seem to be limiting myself. I also tend to make things more complicated than they need to be. When I first created this blog my goal was to use it to show not only the transformation of my room (and other personal spaces), but to show off my own personal transformations as well. A bit attention seeking, yes, I know. I was hoping that by doing a blog that anyone could read, that it would act as an incentive to actually work on my bad habits. It has actually helped a bit, but I've also hit a bit of a dead end.
You see I'm constantly changing my mind on things, my biggest flaws are my indecisiveness and lack of focus. This is extremely noticeable in the way I play Wow. I'm an alt-a-holic, I'm constantly creating and deleting alts for one reason or another. I am always coming up with little stories for each as well as taking tons of screen shots, but I don't do anything with any of it. It is all becoming clutter on my computer, in my head, and of my time. I need to do something with it all, and I was thinking that this may just be the spot to put some of it. I'd put it all on another blog, but I don't think that would be a good idea at the moment. I need to focus on a lot of things at once right now, and adding another blog on top of it would just cause more problems than it would solve.

Anyways happy, belated, Thanksgiving

Had to Share

Here is a quick link I found on Organizing, that I just had to share. It has some creative "declutter" ideas.

Hold Up

So I've been working on my room for quite some time now, and although I have gotten a lot done there is still much more to do. I know I haven't posted much on here, but truth be told there hasn't been as much to talk about as I would have liked (Mostly I've been doing a lot of boring things like reorganizing papers and such). There are a few projects that I am working on, and some old one's I'll try to cover soon.

There is one bit of advice I will give right now though for organizing papers. There are many different ways to Organize paperwork; file cabinets, binders, crates, bins, ect. As long as you know where those important papers are, and can easily access them is what counts. Experiment with different methods to find one that works for you. Try to keep the things that go together, close together (ie: School Records and Transcripts, or Bank Records and Budget info/ Pay stubs). Once you start don't allow yourself to stop, for any reason.

I think that I might have more to say on the subject of organization, but not right now. I need to get to work on some of my projects that I mentioned, and hope it doesn't take another month for me to post.

oops

So this past week was supposed to be about sorting out my closet and clothes. Yeah, that didn't happen 0>). Outside of work I don't recall doing much more than sitting at my computer playing games. I guess that means that this week is going to have to be my catch up week. Don't know how well that will work seeing as how my focus has been spotty at best. I guess that means it's time to start writing in my actual journal or else I may not be able to get anything done this week either.

My Rooms Current Condition

Here are a few pictures of my rooms current state. The couch is a fold out, and is on wheels. This actually helps with spacing, although I still have a lot of furniture in a very small space. Over all the room still has abundant potential, which is also my biggest obstacle. So many ideas, and possibilities. There are quite a few limitations though, mainly in the fact that I can't do anything major like painting or reupholstery. Not that I could decently pull of the later of the two anyways. Needless to say no matter what the potential, no matter the limitations. It needs work.......a lot of work.

Before I go any farther I do need to apologize. I said I would have the pictures up the day after my first post, which was about three days ago. I ended up with heavy work schedule that left me struggling to get my regular chores done, let alone work on my blogs. I am still sorry for not meeting that deadline.

On to the more important matter of formulating ideas. I will start with a list of things that I like and see where I go from there. I know that I'm absolutely in love with the Victorian Era, and Steampunk. While I don't have a whole lot of Steampunk items, i do have some things that have that Victorian feel to them. I also like antique items, mirrors, Oriental stuff, Nature, fantasy, travel, art, gadgets, and gizmos. My list go on further but those are the main ones. The things I have to not only have in my room, but have constant access to are: bed, bedding, clothes, bath and body care, accessories, hair care, rabbit, rabbit supplies. The things I would like to have on hand in my room: most recent focal projects, project idea list, writing materials, recent reading material, basic sewing supplies, art supplies, exercise equipment, decorations.
The area by this dresser was being used as a beauty and make up area, but it didn't work too well. I'm thinking of taking down the mirror and using it for my art supplies. I need to hang up that shelf though. Either by hanging it to the wall, or finding a way to attach it to the wood piece that's framing it. I've also considered finding another spot for those pieces, even though there really isn't another place to put them. Another possibility I've been considering is, turning the wood piece into a cabinet that can be attached to the wall. The only problem I have with that last idea is the fact that, attaching it to the wall would probably make it permanent. I really don't like the idea of it being permanently attached to my wall.

The little wooden shelf above the mirror is actually a spice rack. I was thinking that if I don't use it for art supplies that it could perhaps hold some nick nacks and such. It could hold both actually, as it has a small drawer at the very bottom of the rack. I need to come up with a nob for it though, and it could use a good sanding and painting. The stuffed toys won't be staying there either, I completely forgot they were there till after I took the pictures.

I'd go through more but I'm tired and need a rest  from typing, plus it won't let me type around the pictures anymore. I'll maybe add more post about each photo individually, but only in context to something that I am doing in that area. (Like a craft piece or some kind of dramatic change.) I will also give updates on ideas that I get for different things, and areas.

Crazy, crazy, crazy

O.k. so this has been what I would call the week from hell. I'd divulge further except that I'm pretty sure that no one wants to hear me whine about the corner I backed myself into. Well not all of it anyways. Some of it could be interesting as it involves sorting through stuff to create some blog topics. Things like creative ways to decorate, art, photography, poetry, the list could go on and on.

So I'll tell all about the project that I'm working on that brought about the creation of this blog. First things first though, my name is Pandora (Well that's what I want to be called at the moment) and I'm 24. My project is putting my room back together. Doesn't sound so interesting, but I happen to be a very creative person. Instead of giving a boring blow by blow update, I'll update with things like: tips, tricks, fun ideas, and projects. I'll also throw in some random things from time to time (especially if there's nothing to really add other wise.)

That's pretty much it for now, I'll see about adding pics of my rooms current condition sometime tomorrow. It's too dark for my camera to take any good pictures right now. It'll look kind of odd because it is barren as far as style goes, just holding my basic needs for now. Well I'd better get to work on some of those projects.
